“Good morning Denmark” studio at an emblematic location with VELVET luminaires
At Copenhaguen Central Station TV2 has totally renewed its studio for the live show “Good morning Denmark“.
VELVET has been selected as the unique lighting provider to create the first 100% LED light studio at Denmark.
Project requirements
• Continuous adjustment of light intensity and colour temperature to match the changing daylight coming from the real visible background
• Very low ceiling only 2,5 meters high
• Simplify the dimmers racks
• Reduce maintenance cost on bulbs and gels replacement and air conditioning
• Reduce heat on the presenters face due to the low ceiling studio

The old combination of fluorescent and tungsten lights has been completely replaced by arrays of 2LONG–STUDIO fixtures placed over the long window facing to Copenhaguen central station to double as back and front light.
To get the correct exposure and a natural soft look on the presenters faces the light designer chose a combination of 3LIGHT–STUDIO and 2LONG–STUDIO as key light.
THELIGHT has provided 90 units of 2LONG–STUDIO, 20 units of 3LIGHT–STUDIO and a custom designed round space light made of 24 units of 1LIGHT–STUDIO to entirely light the studio.
Using VELVET solutions with a console and software provided by the system integrator the light designer is able to control colour temperature variation, light intensity and cameras movements to adapt to the changing background light along the 3 hours live show.
The electric wiring and rigging has been quick and simple due to THELIGHT fixtures low weight and extremely low power draw of just 8200 Watts for the whole studio.
The technicians are impressed by the precise light control while not having to use colour gels not replacing bulbs or tubes while the heat and electric consumption has been dramatically reduced over the old tungsten and fluorescent studio lighting.
VELVET high–power LED system consent to install custom solutions like a round big space light needed to get a soft homogeneous light over a wide area.
This space light has been custom built using 24 units of 1LIGHT high–power LED strips allowing to remotely control colour temperature, green/magenta correction and light intensity as on any other VELVET fixture installed.
